Since I just caught random Pals, raised them, and made them work, my combat Pals are weak and the Pals at my base are slow. So I tried breeding… and in some ways, it seems like an even more brutal system than Pokemon.
I’m someone who got multiple shinies and legendaries in Pokemon, starting with a 6IV foreign Ditto, but even I felt that Palworld’s breeding system is insanely grindy.
I started from Gen 7, so I didn’t really experience much grinding compared to older generations… but in Gen 7, I did grind for 4IV Dittos through chaining, and before Gen 8 came out, I grinded for 5IV Dittos in Let’s Go through chaining. With those Dittos, I traded for 6IVs in Gen 8.
Once you get 6IVs, everything after that is simple. You just match the nature and desired moves through repetition to quickly get 5IVs, and if you store those breeding parents, you can use them in the next generation to quickly breed new ones. If you have a lot saved up, you don’t really need to grind later on. Shiny hunting took a lot of time, but there was no more need to grind for decent breeding stock.
So I started with the thought ‘how much grinding could Palworld possibly have…?’
At first, I tried to combine attack-boosting traits from the ones I had caught, but I got a completely unexpected result. I played Pokemon, so I naturally thought it would follow the female Pal, but a totally different creature came out. When I looked it up, apparently there’s some breeding formula ㅋㅋㅋ
What is this… I can’t breed them one by one, so I’m trying to use the breeding formula as reference… I can accept that the results are random, sure, but the cake ㅋㅋㅋ I’ve got chicken and cow-like Pals running around, but eggs and milk aren’t accumulating well.

So I bought materials from a merchant, and when Maho does the fire-starting work, it takes all day long.
In Palworld time, you literally have to bake only that for the entire day.
Having to randomly attach skills with cakes that take forever to get… After doing a few, I got so bored that I just sat there blankly… and thought ‘Wait, I’m trying to enjoy a game, but what am I doing being this bored? I should check out Nexus Mods☆’
When I logged into Nexus, sure enough, without even needing to search, it was ranked #2 in top files. I installed one that lets you breed in 1 second using berries instead of needing cakes. After pressing F for a while, I went back to Nexus and saw #5 was an instant completion mode without pressing F ㅋㅋㅋ People are all the same everywhere…
So I went to the Pals’ food box, took away all the berries, fed the Pals wheat instead, and started pulling for Pals. I don’t need to make cakes anymore, but when making ingots was frustrating, I started with pulling for fire-starters.
Firestarter 4 cat.

I had to attach work speed % bonuses and enhance them with 128 Pals, so even with mods it took quite a while. Without mods, I don’t think I could have ever pulled them. This part is more brutal(?) than Pokemon.
The ingot smelting speed is incredible, and I think I recorded a video but I can’t find it. After this guy started smelting ingots, I never had to wait around desperately for ingots to finish cooking.
Here’s a video of charcoal burning instead.

Plus, this cat works at night too.
Swift, Handiwork 5 doggy

Most tasks get completed the moment Anubis comes running over.
Come on 거멍아, let’s just do one task~
When I want to do some work, I need to catch 거멍이, but it has Swift so I can’t catch it. ㅋㅋ

So cute💕
I originally made it just because of its high mining level, but I really like it because it works so well.

And the Pals I’ve locked up for breeding. I put them there because I don’t have anywhere else to keep them, but they look a bit pitiful… When I make a new base, I should build more storage in the extra space and separate them.

I made a few more Anubis and put them, so crafting is super fast now, and I also made some furniture for my house – it’s so fast that I don’t need to wait at all.
