The Thaumaturge: I saw 2 endings

There are spoilers about the ending.

The game really has an anticlimactic ending – unlike the impressive start, it very suddenly tells you to choose a side and the ending comes out.

Did you hear me? It’s over now.

What? This suddenly? You’re telling me the playtime is only this much?

The first ending I saw was the Mage Union ending.

Since Rasputin’s actions were really… unlikeable, I thought ‘would a father really entrust something that would drive his son to death?’ so I chose the mages.

One of the mages who joined the alliance is this guy, and even though he really hated the player when they first met, she’s surprisingly easy to persuade. Looking at the documents, it seems like she might have been threatened or something, but I couldn’t be bothered and skipped it ㅋㅋㅋ

Actually, I don’t really understand why the guy who tried to tortured Wiktor kept the grimoire after stealing it from his father instead of burning it, I don’t understand why he hates mages so much, and I don’t know why he pretended to help at the beginning either. Did I skip too much ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

In my father’s case, it wasn’t his fault but mine. Stanisław Szulski’s cooperation with the Okhrana was solely because of the threat to arrest his son.

It also shows that his father had some circumstances too, but I’m not curious about it anymore.

Did you hear me? It’s over now.

Yep. Now, all I want is to just see the ending.

There may be other paths as well. Which one do you prefer?

Oh, just show me the ending quickly, will you?

So, you will accept all things that are prepared for you, and you will use those things according to what you think is appropriate.”

(I still don’t really get what the game is trying to say…)

This guy suddenly breaks into someone else’s house through the window and offers to help. Seriously, what kind of story is this.

Anyway, to reach the ending, I went to the Tsar and

“Hey you! I know all your secrets!” The player threatens him and the mages gain their freedom. And Rasputin goes “You bastard, I helped you and this is how you repay me!!! Son of a bitch!!!” as he gets dragged away – that’s the ending. Surprisingly, no one in the mage alliance betrays anyone, so the player lives freely and happi… or so it seems, but the ending ominously asks “How long can this peace in Warsaw last?” Honghonghong~ and ends on an unsettling note.

So I felt bad about stabbing Rasputin in the back, so I loaded and tried a different choice.

During his act, Wiktor steps forward and says “What about our promise?”. Suddenly Rasputin starts a fight. ?? Wait, what about the alliance?

Maybe it’s because Rasputin was being annoying so I kept choosing annoying dialogue options too? I want to save/load and see different reactions, but why did they block free save/loading in a game with choices?

If Wiktor wins, he expose Rasputin. But looking at Rasputin’s reaction, I can’t tell if he’s pissed because of the manipulation I did before coming here, or if he’s mad because things didn’t go according to plan. I’m curious if there are other endings, but it’s too bothersome and Rasputin seems like such a jerk that I didn’t bother checking if there are other endings.

This ending seems like it might end well, but-

It’s a somewhat bad ending – he becomes His Majesty’s minion.

I don’t really know how Abaurycy was affected, but in the mage alliance ending, he becomes a back-alley power broker with Wiktor’s money. However, if you don’t ally with the mages, for some reason it shows an ending, he’s sulking(!) at Wiktor.

So,

Didn’t you tell me what happened to Wanda?
